Ready, get set...the table!!

Hello!

I came up with this fun idea--well, I think it's fun anyways! If you have visited my etsy shop you might see that I love vintage! I especially love china..and am going to set tables for you, to help give you some ideas! You don't need a whole brand new set of china..make it a little eclectic...this table is set with the cutest china from Taylor Smith Taylor--I only have two of the dinner plates, but they're so so pretty with the gray's and deep rose red...and the cups and saucers, I'm lucky enough to have 6 of those...check out the gray cups!

Check it out and see what you think--and come back, I will have more ideas headed to your table soon!

Thanks,

Jen

Great Weekend, How About You!?

What a productive weekend I had! Well, that is...if you call buying a lot of neat stuff, productive! (I do!).

I went to a moving sale Friday and Saturday. First of all, the house was gorgeous! Too bad someone already bought it! It was on Lake Road in Bay Village, Ohio..and what a beautiful view of the lake. The house was an amazing older home with a beautiful porch.
I managed to leave the moving sale on Friday with a large box of beautiful items, including some lovely china, linens, and vintage jewelry. On Saturday everything was half price, so I had to buy a lot more...and I met the elderly owner that will be moving from the house. She was an elegant and interesting woman.
*** I need you other bloggers to help me! I cannot figure out why I keep getting all these extra spaces between my paragraphs...does anyone know?

Terryann's shop....check it out!

Terryann's Shop!

I have had such a great time since joining Etsy in April of this year! What I have enjoyed the most is the artists that have shops on Etsy. They're friendly, helpful...and so talented!

I am going to be featuring some of these talented artists...and my first pic is Terryann! Please read on to learn about Terryann and her life!

Tell me about yourself, why you decided to open a shop

My name is Terryann and I live in the Pacific Northwest on an Island, in the sound. I have been around the glue gun and the sewing machine since I was a little girl. My mom is an artist and that creative spirit was passed down to me. My mom painted both of my avatars. We lived overseas much of my growing up years. I believe my many years in the orient influenced me a lot, I think most people can see that as soon as they come to my shop. I love crafting and crafty stuff.

What is more, than just the process I am the product driven kind of person. I must see the result of all my work...either in actual product or learning process. I think I am getting to the point where I see more products and less "life lessons"...That feels good. I am a Life long experience Junkie!I am always looking for a venue for my product, and am generally dissatisfied with craft fair set ups. One day my fingers were surfing through the pages of Ebay, I was in fact searching for other sellers who produced crafts and found a seller that mentioned she was on another site as well……it was allysonhill http://allysonhill.etsy.com/. I followed her to Etsy. She was and is a big inspiration to me. I soon put up a little shop and within 20 minutes had my first sale! Wow! I got to get sewing!

Tell me how your shop is doing and what you like best about Etsy

Well I could be doing better, but for now and this stage of my life I am quite happy with my two or three sales a week on Etsy. I will become an “empty nester” in the next couple of years and then I am looking forward to full speed ahead with promotions and sales. I have been on Etsy since March 2006, and the actual fact that such an environment exists is one of my favorite things about Etsy! The games and visual richness of the site helps tremendously for a sale venue.

What kind of fruit you would be!

I would be a passion fruit! I have a passion for life, a passion for God, a passion for creating, and have a long list of passions that I add to each day….… Life is an adventure and I am an experience junkie! The passion for new experience is a kin to the life long learner, both look for the new and fresh to expand their territory in intellect, memories and wisdom while not forgetting passion. There is a famous line in the movie Chariots of Fire, about the Olympic runner Eric Liddell, where he says when he is running he can feel God’s pleasure, because he knows he is doing what he was created for. That is how I feel when I pursue my passions.

Here are some of the places you can find Terryann!

How's Your Etsy!?

Hello out there to everyone in blog land!

Thanks to all the viewed and commented on my last little article about spinning..what a pleasant surprise!

I'm wondering how everyone is doing with their etsy shops..I really want to feature etsians on my blog. I don't have any clever questions made up...like if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be!

I'll think up some questions, I just need someone to interview!

Have a good weekend..work hard and sell lots!

Sorry to tell you

Chip did not make it--we found that he was gone (for sure) yesterday morning, I'm just thankful that we made his short life a little more comfortable!

I Didn't Want to Tell you This

Well, Chip did not make it. We really thought he would be our little backyard pet. He would go right to his littl e bed we made him, but yesterday morning, I realized he left us...the only thing I can think is, at least we made him comfortable.

This is why my husband is not a doctor

Good thing my husband is a pension consultant, and not a doctor...remember the squirrel story? Well, earlier today, my husband went to get the "dead" baby squirrel to bury him, and he wasn't in the spot he was supposed to be in!

Sure enough, Chip, was walking around the yard just fine!

My husband, Bob, did contact the science center and they basically said he should be fine on his own, but we're keeping the little bed out there for him.

Chip is alive!

Okay-here's some pics of Chip

Happy Day After the 4th!

I hope everyone had a fun Fourth of July!

Mine was interesting! We had our local parade, but I didn't go..but I noticed two boys going by my house after the parade, and they had stopped, and it looked like they were watching some small animal. I finally went out to check on what was happening...and it was the cutest baby squirrel. These boys, only 12 years old, stayed near this little squirrel, for over an hour trying to be sure he didn't go into the busy street and get run over.

I finally told them they should just go, the poor guys would have stayed all day! We brought him closer to my house, hoping that his mommy would find him. He would cry out and then a squirrel (assuming the mom) would cry back from a tree.

We finally put him in the backyard where it was fenced. We actually named him Chip and gave him some water and little pieces of bread. I made a little bed for him with a cardboard box lid and a sheet and he finally settled in there, and slept the rest of the afternoon, yes, we checked, he was breathing.

Unfortunately, this morning we found that he had passed away. I was hoping his mom would have found him and he would have lived. We were going to call the local nature center to see if they could take him, but it's too late. I can only think that at least we made him comfortable, but it's still so sad.
